    Howdy, ya'll!

I'm currently a resident of a suburb of Nashville, Tennessee, and I'm looking at relocating for my employer to Round Rock, Texas. I have travelled to Round Rock on business trips, but have not had the chance to explore the area.

I have a HCP which apparently equals Texas' CHL. I own an M&P 9mm sub-compact, Colt 1911 .45, Savage model 12 in .308 with SWFA Super Sniper scope, and a M4-A3.

I am interested in knowing what's around the Round Rock area that'll allow me to do some distance shooting, (range limits around here are only 200 yards), and what's around that area that'd be of interest to a shooter.

Also, what do I need to do to transfer my HCP/what good classes to get familiar with Texas laws?

Take a TX CHL class as soon as you can, mainly to familiarize yourself with the laws and regulations here. TX is pretty lenient about firearms, but not as much as TN in some areas. It does have excellent self-defense laws though!

Hi and welcome to the forum. We lived in Hendersonville for 5 years.

Having only drove through Round Rock on my way to Austin, and being a Fort Worth resident, I can't help you with range info, but I'm sure some of the Austin locals can help you there.

Yes Eagle Peak has a 300, 200,100 and 50 yard rifle lanes and multiple lanes on them. I live pretty close to there (5 miles or so) and go as much as I can. They don't offer any memberships and it's $10 a day and it'll be $20 or so the first time you go out there. They also have there days where they are a bit of a PITA but there okay to deal with as long as you fallow the range rules.
Howdy let us know when you get down here I'm sure some of us would head over there with you. (disclaimer: The FNG buys the ammo for said shooting party and lunch after the fact. LOL) I know I'd be happy to head up there and shoot for a while.
