More like Taurus, springfields, and high points

Clarification please. Are saying these brands are inferior, or less than quality handguns?

Surely not. Springfield makes some very nice, and well made firearms. Taurus as well. They did go through a bit of a QC problem some years back, but they got through it. HighPoint, other companies wished they had their warranty. Inexpensive, and decently made. They are still a bit on the blocky and ugly side though.

If your intention is to malign a brand, at least quantify your reasons for doing so.

Do you have some personal affection for those brands? You missed the point by a mile. Those brands are priced lower than the rest, therefore...wait for it...they get bought up

Simply asking for clarification of what you meant, based on what you said.

With the exception of the HighPoint, I have owned quite few of both the other brands. Not a personal affection, just that I appreciate decent firearms that are a good value.

Or it could be retailers are pushing on new gun buyers, who wouldn't know a decent handgun from a bad one, or those are brands they have large stock of and it's now a good time to unload them for a profit.

I don't know, but maybe you can educate me!

I would imagine it's because those are what they have in stock. Cheap pistols sell better normally than more expensive ones, so they're the ones more likely to be stocked. Well, those and Glocks.

    I agree.
Panic buy guns are the lower tier stuff. Glocks, Hi-Points, Taurus, Mossberg, PSA, Bubba built 80%, etc.
Sure there are higher end brands mixed in there but not all that many.
High end 1911's, Benelli's, Colt SAA's and boutique AR's and the like are NOT going to be showing up in pawn shops.

Are you a rep for Springfield? ;)

It was merely an observation on the price range of certain brands. Like I said in a different post, gun store X is all out of Springfields, but the $4,500 1911s and the SCARs are still on the shelf.

Pretty much. Most gun stores are going to keep larger stocks of what guns move the fastest off the shelves. They tend to stock smaller quantities of higher priced top tier guns for their discerning, or richer customers.

When panic buying commences, stores can suddenly start offloading guns that are not the best selling guns, that they have taking up space, and that they have a substantial investment in, to new gun buyers that know little or nothing about guns to begin with.

I would speculate, that many of these new gun buyers wouldn't know the difference between a decent inexpensive gun, and a cheap POS gun!

I’d hate to see people buy something they don’t necessarily need. Say an employee convinced them a Sig was gonna save their life but a Taurus wouldn’t. Reminds me of the panic buying before hurricane Harvey. I saw people grabbing large yeti ice chests off the shelves like they were going out of style. In a panic, some people grab the item regardless of the price or quality
