spent most of the AM searching the web for information on an m-1 conversion to 45 acp. not alot to go on, (Lee mag etc.) dose any one have a lead in securing this item, or a smith who would under take the project? the 9mm 10 mm and the 450 automag are not what im looking for. I did have a .357 revolver marlin lever combo that i loved but im rockin a glock 21/and a 1911 now and would like to get a carbine in the same cal. of the carbines on the market im not thrilled, and i think the m-1 mod would fit the bill perfectly

I seem to remember M-1's to .357 mag., but never to .45. And those had really thin barrels.

I would just opt for a Marlin Camp in .45ACP or for not much difference in the price of an M1 Carbine, get a Beretta carbine..

Just a more realstic and easier thought..

There are recent makers of 9mm M-1's but I've never seen a .45 acp version. Didn't ruger make a "camp" style autoloader in .45? That would be fine.
Just go for a Tommy Gun.

Ruger only did 9 and 40, no 45.

There were .45 Win Mag conversions, never seen one in ACP.

Does Beretta offer its carbine in 45acp?

Yes, it takes the Cougar 8000 (?) mags-- Pricey (most Berettas are) but nice--

it is the .45ACP version of their Storm carbine...

Or you could wait for the Hi Point 4595 that was supposed to come out a couple of years ago...
