The receivers are forged, and at one time a good option for a build - but the availability of good forged (Bula) and cast (Fulton) receivers has negated their economy.

Do you think one is worth $900? Seems to be in decent shape

A Springfield isn't much more than that.

I had a Polytech and it was fine but should hace paid a little more for a Springfield.
I dodnt want to give any money to springfield due to their bullshit in illinois. I might just suck it up and buy a fulton

The JRA M14 clones are mostly Bula parts, and based on reports they're great.
The JRA BM59 clones are notoriously out-of-spec, the receivers are cast and problematic. If you want a BM59, have Shuff build one - it'll cost a couple hundred more but it'll be worth it as the BM59 is one of the finest firearms to grace the planet!
