Not a fan of the stock, handguard or carry handle.
My 1974 SP1 w/Colt Scope...........
I ordered an M7 bayonet. I found some ok used surplus with the original M8A1 scabbards, but with old used surplus it can be a crap shoot what you get, and done of them looked a little rusty. So I ended up going with a new unopened surplus M7 with the newer M 10 scabbard. Not Vietnam era, but, either is the Ruger rifle it’s gonna be attached to, so it is what it is! Not sure if I’m gonna put on an A1 flash hider or stay with the A2 birdcage.
If I went to a 14.5” barrel, would that not make it a SBR? Not sure of all the NFA rules. Do they count the muzzle break/flash hider?

It would, unless you pinned and welded the flash hiderIf I went to a 14.5” barrel, would that not make it a SBR? Not sure of all the NFA rules. Do they count the muzzle break/flash hider?

Growing up looking at photos of my dad from Vietnam, and playing with the old school GI Joe, I couldn’t wait to grow up and join the army so I could carry an M16. Well when I turned 17 and went and talked to the recruiter, my dad had a fit! He was pretty insistent on me going to college. So I watched my friend join up and get shipped off to Germany, and I stayed in Texas and drank for a couple years in San Marcos while going to a class or two every once in a while, and ended up not finishing college! But I’m damn near 50 now and I finally got some thing close to an M16! Gonna have to replace the buffer spring though. The one that came with that stock, sounds like a 300 lb man sitting down on an old couch every time I fire it!

You made it.Man that rifle brings back memories of my days in the Corps
Quick question. If I switched out my 16” barrel for this 14.5” one, as long as I have a muzzle break or flash hider that brings the total length to 16” pinned or welded on, I would be compliant? Im trying to get a true M4 look and feel without having to get a stamp for an SBR.
