OK, I finally had enough waiting (I'm not a very patient person). I bought a TacStar Sidesaddle for a Mossberg 500/590 and made it fit my Mossberg 930. A few simple tools was all I needed.
I already had a 10-32 tap and a #21 drill bit, so once I found some temporarily suitable 10-32 screws, I was in business.
All I did was drill and tap two new holes for the screws that replace the trigger housing pins. The reason two new holes needed to be drilled was that if I used the original hole, the forearm hits the mounting plate. Sure, I could have just cut the forearm, but I did not want to radically change anything just yet.
After the hole placement was measured and drilled out, I put the mounting plate on using the two 10-32 screws I picked up at Home Depot. They will be replaced once I find a better match for the original 10-32 screw that comes with the sidesaddle. I made sure not to overtighten the screws, otherwise, it is possible to bind the reciever and jam up the action.
