    In the woods...
Perhaps I'm getting old, irritable, or both, but it really irks me that people who own guns are not educated enough about then to know the difference between a magazine and a clip.

Example: In a recent conversation with an individual crediting to sell a semi-auto handgun, he told me it was missing the "clip".

I know there are bigger problems out there, but this is just one of my pet peeveds, right up there with people who want to sit through a green light IN FRONT of me.

    Gunz are icky.
    Not a biggie for me.
I love the Darwin Award Candidates who call a .380 a baaaad MF.
Or the savant that swears a shotgun "shoots harder" with a 30" long barrel than a 28" barrel.
Then there are the rocket surgeons who put smokeless powder into a muzzle loader. Well hell! It's black. It'll work.

Live is really too short to get your possum wrapped around your crankshaft over this sort of thing. I personally use it to gauge how much someone knows about guns. Another good “tell” is If they pick up the gun with their finger on the trigger. Or use the word gun when they mean shotgun, rifle, pistol or revolver. I have to deal with a lot of people that dislike guns and having someone interested in them is cool and I don’t mind if they use the wrong word.

How about the ones who think you don't need to aim with a shotgun.

A more acceptable source, from Merriam-Webster:

    Definition of gun
1a :a piece of ordnance usually with high muzzle velocity and comparatively flat trajectory
b :a portable firearm (such as a rifle or handgun)
    c :a device that throws a projectile
