I'm focusing on upper body strength and development currently. There is nothing better than pull ups for that. Shoulders, arms, lats and anterior delts are all activated.
Im using a band to get more reps in , doing 5 sets of 8-10 4X week.
I will add weight by attaching weights to a belt and eventually use a weaker band.
    The goal is 10-12 raw.

Inspiring, I was in great shape over the summer but since winter started I've been on a lazy streak. Arms and legs look like toothpicks, going to start getting back into it starting Monday. I think I'm going to get back on a bicycle too.

Funny, i bought a band for this same reason.

At the new year i scrapped my program and found a new one that has a focus on the main compound lifts. I'm trying to get more strength in my squat, bench, deadlift, and overhead press. I'm loving the program, but feel like I'm missing some back exercises. I'm going to add a few sets of pullups to the program.

I'm down 30ish pounds since June of last year, and starting to look jacked.

    Had the best workout today!
Afterwards I decided to beat my personal record on the dumbell snatch
My old record was 100 lbs.

I failed 2X..because I wasn't using enough hip drive..mainly because I was getting tired from the workout
But I had determined it was going up!

Hit a new personal best today.
I had not trained this for 2 months but pulled some lighter weight at 70 and 80 lbs and it felt good .Last week I did 100 for 2 with ease so I went for 110 lbs today
I might have had a bit more left but not much.

I've been through quite a bit this past 90 days with my mom getting sick and passing nearly a month ago now.
My gym workouts have been not much more than showing up and getting the work done
But I showed up done the work.
Today was the best day I've had (enjoyable) in the gym in months

Did heavy carries and pushed the sled and some pull ups
I feel like I'm over the hump

Showing up is the most important part. Not every day is going to be great but it's good that you are pushing thru.

Mind sharing the meaning of your tattoo? I could Google it but I'd rather hear it from the guy with the word tattooed on his arm.
It looked familiar, I used an app with exercise programs to track my progress. Fullsterkur is a program offered by one of my favorite YouTubers.

Fullsterkur is an Icelandic word meaning "Full Strong"

There is legendary stone on a beach in Iceland named after it

It was a test of manhood and a job application of sorts
There were three stones and the 2nd stone known as Halfsterkur or "half strong"

A man who could lift the 2nd stone would have job on a fishing boat. But if someone could lift the largest one, that man would get 2X the pay and food as the others

Legend says that only 1 on several hundred men could lift the Fullsterkur stone.
That stone weighs 154 kg or 340 lbs

If you want to learn more about the history of stone lifting in Iceland Rogue did a very good documentary about it

It is on YouTube and sometimes Netflix
It is a great history lesson

Cool story. I'm glad I asked.

I've been thinking about those Atlas stones since April. I was traveling for work. I didn't drink or party so instead of sitting in my hotel I called a local gym. They gave me a week pass for a few bucks.

It was a strongman gym in Iowa. Really cool place to workout.

I wish I knew some place like this near me.
