I posted the Pinfire revolver I bought a few weeks ago in NH. I got rather cheap because the hammer spring was broken and the trigger return spring was missing.
So I made new springs for the revolver and it is now in perfect working order....
I hardened the springs by heating them and quenching them in oil....after final polish and fitting, I tempered them in the Nitre bluing tank at 600 degrees.
The original broken hammer spring.......
Fitting the hooks on the hammer spring
Filing the springs for fit.....
Fitting the trigger return spring
The hammer spring before polishing
Heating the trigger return spring for bending
Shaping the trigger return spring
Ready for fitting....
Notice the hammer return spring is not the same thickness throughout the spring. The original was thinner at the hook / stirrup end, so I filed it the same....
The trigger return spring after final fitting and tempering....
