    Dallas Texas or so
I will be in the Marfa/Alpine area next Monday and Tuesday and part of Wednesday.

What are some good eateries for all three meals? Staying at the Maverick Inn in Alpine but the wife wants to see the El Persidio (spelling) hotel in Marfa. It was designed by Henry Trost who moved to El Paso because Dallas "would never amount to anything."

We photographed his house in El Paso for a book.

The paisano hotel in marfa is nice. If you can swing one night stay there I think you will like the experience.

The Reata restaurant is probably the best place in Alpine. I'd get a reservation if dining on a Friday or Saturday night. If you want to wander over to Marathon the restaurant at the Gage Hotel ain't too bad either.

Hell to the yes on this. This place is awesome.

The Paisano is where Rock Hudson and Elizabeth Taylor stayed during the making of "Giant". They have a display room for that.

Mando's in Marfa for good Texmex.

    Ditto on Guzzi's

also forgot about Penny's Diner in Alpine, a real old fashioned diner.

And if you're up for a drive, go just west of Valentine to see Prada Marfa.
