I have decided that my next rifle is going to be a Marlin 1895 45-70. Now I'm not sure if I want the standard G model guide gun or the new SBL model. I like the look of the SBL with the Lever top rail, gray stock pattern, and extended magazine but the additional $400 for a recoil pad and 2 extra rounds is a bit daunting . Has anyone had a chance to use this compared to the standard model how do they match up or alternatively know of a custom shop that specializes in lever guns. I was told there is a company that is the "Wilson Combat" of guide guns but can't seem to find it. Thanks for the help
