I bought one of these about 10 years or more ago and It's my favorite .22. It breaks apart to clean and is very accurate. Mag capacity is 26 shorts to 19 long rifle. A bonus of sorts is the 24 inch barrel. With sub sonic ammo, it is not very loud at all, and with .22 short cb caps, all you can hear is the hammer striking the firing pin, some gas blow out the barrel and the bullet hit. Nice piece! FYI, the wood on mine is like the the wood in the first picture.

    Very nice!

Mine (my Dad bought it new in the 50s) is a bit older, and has been carried more than a few miles thru the woods of N. Carolina, S. Carolina, California and Texas, but still shoots very nice groups and handles any .22 ammo with ease. He had the scope added when my oldest brother was in college (machine shop classes), as his eyes were aging fast.

I have one that was my Dad's he bought back in the late 60's. A really nice .22. I love the tube feed and that it will shoot shorts, longs, long rifle and hyper with zero feed issues.

I've had two of those rifles and I ended up selling both of them. Hang onto the thing. I deeply regret selling the last one! Spare yourself the heartache.

Here's a nice one. This 39A was sent back to the old Marlin factory in CT for a restock and reblue in the early 90's. It came out rather nice.
