Something looks off about that AR. Is it a real one, or an airsoft gun? The upper has odd contours, and there's no markings at all on the magwell.
Serial number appears on the wrong side.

Pistol lower at least. I.e. pistol caliber.

Are there pics of both sides of the AR floating around? I’ve only seen the one I posted up thread.
That one has the epoxy on the supposed serial number which is on the ejection port side.

Regardless it's pistol caliber or airsoft. Not the rifle it's being portrayed as.

As stated it just doesn't look right. The mag pictured won't fit the gun pictured.

The epoxy could be to hold the pins in I guess and there is some on the other side as well.

The picture had its resolution altered on purpose or we could read what's written on the bolt carrier.

    Somethings phuckey.

I don’t have a single AR with a SN on the right side of the lower. I have several with no markings at all on the right side of the lower.

Having said that, I don’t buy as a fact there’s an SN under the goop. I’m willing to accept an 80% or printed lower as being within the realm of possible.

As for the magwell, 80-lower.com has an 80% rifle caliber lower almost exactly like the one pictured.

The question I do have is what motive does the local PD and DA fabricate the label of SBR, when in fact that’s technically correct, and what motive does the PD have to tell the public the mag was inserted and there was 2x .223/5.56 rounds in the mag?

I think both our thoughts assume facts that aren’t yet in evidence though.

Maryland is anti-self-defense: magazine limits, evil-black rifle ban, etc.. If CA, NY or NJ have a law on their books, then there's a good chance MD copied it for themselves.

When living in VA, we'd avoid driving through there whenever possible. They targeted cars with VA tags - especially the DTOM ones.
