I was talking to a friend about certain rules. One of which is whether or not an angled fore grip on an AR pistol made it qualify for SBR status. He came across this and I thought I'd share it.

So, let me know I am reading this attachment correctly.

Regardless of the text accompanying each item, if there is a green check, it is legal?

Right. I knew the vertical grip was a no-no. I was going to put an Archangel kit on my 1st gen Ruger Charger, but decided not to due to the legal issues with the stock and not being able to put a vertical fore grip on it. That's why I was curious about the angled fore grip. The pictures are not standalone.

i'd only suggest angled grips that the manufacturer has already had approved by the ATF (ie: magpul AFG). and i'd keep a copy of the approval in my files. which grips that have been approved are periodically discussed on the AR forums. google is your friend.

I misread his original post and thought he was posting about angled foregrips.

    My bad.

Agree with them or not (and I don't), it's still the law and I hate to see anyone take the rap for an offense they weren't aware of and could have easily avoided...

Yes, it's still a retarded law that can get people locked up for retarded, victimless crimes.

I feel like I read something about vertical foreground not being allowed on pistol grip shotguns as well....am I close? Maybe someone can just bring up everything vertical foregrips need to stay away from as a periodic reminder?

So... no sticking a vertical fore grip to the Weaver rail on my PPQ?
Umm...Yeah. That is a no no.

(I am assuming that question is tongue in cheek. Otherwise I suggest you put down the nintendo control and spend some time picking up a barbell instead.)

Are you talking about a full size shotgun with a pistol grip or something like a Mossberg Shockwave?

if your AR pistol is over 26in over all it is no longer considered a pistol and you can put a vert fore grip on it.
