I tested the waters before but didn’t want to part with it because I didn’t have a clue what I wanted. The mcx hybrid was a short run from sig that uses the mcx upper with a factory fitted m400 lower. Hence hybrid. It has seen less than 400 rounds. Mechanically good to go. Cosmetically good to go. If you have ocd it will have some finish issues on the underside of the rail.

What am I looking for? Would like to add another gun in 7.62x39 or something not in 5.56x45. Preferably semi auto. Off the top of my head here’s some trades I’d do:

    ptr32

chinese sks with a 20 round factory box mag (I know wishful thinking).

    Chinese paratrooper sks.

    Zastava pap pistol.

    Polish tantal.

    Century arms rpk

    Vz58

    Ptr91

Understand I’m not gonna play games. If you paid 400 bucks for your sks and think it’s suddenly worth 900 in our conversation, our conversation will go south. Some items I listed would need cash, mags, ammo, or another cheap gun added to the deal.

Interested in a milled MAK90 AK? Would want to see pics of the MCX before making a hard commitment.
Actually yes. If it’s in good condition, not a lot of mag dumps, the rivets and barrel housing check out. I have always valued mak90’s to have respectable value. I would want to inspect it.

I will add pics after work. I get off at 5. Do you have pictures of the mak90?

Milled = receiver machined out from bar stock, not 1MM or 1.5MM folded sheet metal and front/rear trunnions, so no rivets, just barrel and trigger pins.

That said, here's a couple showing overall condition. It has an AR buffer tube adapter and Blackhawk stock installed right now, though I do have the original wood thumbhole stock for it as well.

Good looking gun. Also, milled still has rivets for the trigger guard. ;)

Thank you for sharing the pictures.

I also have a more traditional AKM with an extended MLOK (or was it keymod?) handguard that's very well built. Off a Polish kit, as I recall.
Also, I do have 2 CMMG MK47 Mutants. I horse traded and ended up with a 2nd one a while ago, so that's another possibility.

Between the two I’d have more use with the mutant.

I'm awake now. The MCX Hybrid looks great. Is the optic included? I have a spare Romeo5, so no big if you want to transfer it to another gun in your collection.

I would want to keep the red dot. You got pics of the mutant?

Low round count on this one. I've put mostly Wolf/Tula steel case through it, and it gobbles them up. Shot pretty decently with Lapua brass 7.62X39, so it'd make a good hog gun, and it takes standard AR15 triggers, though my understanding is binaries like the Franklin Armory and Fostech Echo work fine in it, the new FRT-15 doesn't.

Also, magazine compatibility is on par with all the standard Kalashnikovs out: MAK, VEPR, Saiga, WASR and so on. It takes Gen 1 and Gen 2 AKM PMAGS, Bakelites, Chinese, Russian, Croatian, Bulgarian, Yugo, etc, and the US Palm and Xtech magazines. I haven't tried it with PufGun 30 or the new 60 round coffin magazines, as I don't own any of those yet.

Drums also fit and feed. IV8888 did a meltdown video on a post-sample MK47 Mutant machinegun several years ago, and the thing is a beast. Blew the gas tube out the front around 1K rounds and was single shot after that.
