A lot of people think Memorial day is the unofficial beginning of summer, or just another federal holiday for BBQing and spending the day hanging out drinking beer.

People really need to understand that it's a day of remembrance and reflecting upon those that gave the greatest sacrifice of all in service of our country.

It's easy to get wrapped up in all the troubles our country is facing, and forget, that this is still the greatest country in the world. And men and women died to defend that, and our rights and freedom.

Enjoy the day, but just remember what it's really all about.

    God bless those brave souls.

We salute the men and women who served and are serving now! My father was in WWII and received the purple heart. My step-father served in Korea and became a citizen, he was from England. Father -in-law was a nose gunner on B-24 during WWII in England.
