Just received this email from Memorial Shooting Center...

Effective immediately Memorial Shooting Center will be permanently closing. Thursday, September 14, 2017 will be our last day open for business. We would like to thank our loyal customers for their years of patronage. We have enjoyed getting to know each and every customer.

360 Tactical Training will continue to offer Houston's finest defensive firearms training and will maintain our course schedule.

If you have questions please contact us at 713-984-9921.

Not sure what the backstory is here but that means one less option for shooting ranges in town.

I ran into one of the former employees at the range yesterday. He said the landlords had been raising the rent over and over until they just couldn't make it work.

I'll be removing them from the "Greater Houston Gun Range" map soon.

That's a shame. I remember when I was a kid growing up in Spring Branch, that was a bowling alley. Of course, with what that neighborhood has turned into, who needs a shooting range? Most just shoot each other out in the open!

Where is the map? Would love to see it. Thanks,

I go to Athena now. Usually on Tuesdays or Thursday afternoons, if I can make it (which is once every few months just to make sure I still know how to shoot my handguns).

Half price range fee those days if you have an LTC or know the magic word from their facebook page.

It works, for indoor shooting. It's definitely nicer.
