Ha! Yes I drove one. I wanted to love it.

Fun to me isnt just speed. Its about the connection to the car and road.

True Miatas are progressively less stripped down sports car as time moved on but they did get bigger engines.

The mazdaspeed Miata I drove was sick.

Yes! Im glad you see what im saying! Im arguing with Scion FRS fans right now that the Miata is more fun to drive.

    Which Miata did you drive?

My father just traded one of his motorcycles for an '05 Miata. It had it all but the turbo. He has three two seaters now. A 1985 Toyota MR2, a 2005 Miata and a 1986 (i think) Pontiac Fiero with a 383 stroked sbc.

That and his five motorcycles always make visiting his house fun!

How is a FWD car a "Miata hatchback"?

Well looks like I was mistaken. As a teenager I always thought that my car was just a hatchback version of a Miata. I wonder where I got my information. It makes no difference. I still miss my MX-3. I still had to put up with the same "chick car" stigma, although at least mine wasn't a convertible.

What I've always found amusing is that convertibles are considered "chick cars", but women don't actually like them. They want to like convertibles, but after a couple of rides with their hair getting tangled they just want the top up :p

Oh God yes. I can't tell you how many times my girlfriend complains about the lack of windows/doors/top in the Jeep
