    It is a wierd deal. As soon as I removed the trigger mechanism the bolt will function properly. I stripped gun down and checked everything to make sure. As I reassembled the gun the slide would function, as soon as I reinstalled the trigger assembly the bolt would not function. After researching you can see where the bolt is rubbing on the top of the trigger assembly.

    I am going to polish both pieces and see what happens..

    Well I want to thank everyone for their input and suggestions. Texan in Training, I especially want to send a big thanks for the video. That made life easy.

    I ended up having to do some filing on the bottom of the bolt, the top of trigger assembly and a spot in the middle of the bolt.

    Disassembled, cleaned, reassembled and lubed up ready to run some ammo through it tomorrow afternoon.

    I dont know what Ruger calls that operating rod assembly, but the part is
    almost exactly like the m-1 carbine, same short stroke operation, and that
    part in an m-1 carbine IS called the slide.
