How does shooting prone or standing make you "forward of the line"? If your muzzle is at the line how are you in front of it?

On the Garland range, which is the range you're asking about, the firing line is a concrete slab with permanent benches. The only way to shoot prone is in front of the benches on the grass - in front of the firing line.

Ah. That makes sense. Most places I shot with benches you could go prone right nest to the bench.

FYI Bullet Hole allows prone shooting on the 100-300 yd range. Concrete floor. It is common to see someone shooting prone with the RSO standing right there.
