Rarely leaving the house has nothing to do with it. You has a APP using the data, check all permissions.

    Far as I know.

I'm not using any data at home, and my mobile date stays turned on.

I just went through her phone and turned off "background" data usage to all the apps.

Still don't know how it uses mobile data while it's turned off...

So, here is what you need to do, buy a faraday bag from Amazon, turn the phone off, put the phone in the faraday bag, see if there is still data being used. If there is, than the cloned sim might be the reason. I don't know if shutting the phone off stops data use. I would think it does but who knows nowadays. But if the phone is in a faraday bag and it still uses data than you have a problem. I keep my car fob in the faraday bag as my battery used to run down fast when just on my dresser.

Problem with that, the phone would need to stay in the bag for several days, before being able to tell if it made a difference.

It was turned off for a week wasn't it? Or did you just turn off something else? If you are getting mobile data use while it's in a faraday bag you have a problem. Should be able to tell in 24 hours I would think.

Phone was never turned off, only restarted.

I went through today and turned off most of the APPs background data access.

ETA: She'd never last 24 hours without the phone, lol..
