However, to be fair, one must note that it is not just the LBG community that does not practice safe sex as the CDC has noted an increase in STDs in general in the last two years. The real question is whether it is ignorance or apathy?

In '05 or '06, a researcher noted that it seemed every time there was a major development in AIDS research, there was a spike in the infection rate.

However, to be fair, one must note that it is not just the LBG community that does not practice safe sex as the CDC has noted an increase in STDs in general in the last two years. The real question is whether it is ignorance or apathy?

Well AIDS won't kill you anymore. We can keep you alive basically a natural lifespan with some very expensive drugs. So people aren't afraid of STDs like they were in the late 80s and during the 90s.

The LBG community especially was super vigilant during that time once it was found out how it was spread, but unfortunately people have become apathetic.

The other thing is anal intercourse is the #1 way to spread an STD, it has to do with the tears in the anus that happen creating micro cuts which allow for easier fluid to blood contact. So they're already more at risk than the heterosexual population.

Why not - how long ago did it come out that a major brand/type of covid test could not distinguish between covid and common cold?

Because it wasn't politically correct to say Queer
A definition of gay used to be licentious, dissipated, dissolute..., until they changed the definition...

Gay can still be found in some definitions of licentious...

Imagine the uproar if they were referred to as licentious or dissipated, instead of gay.

    licentious -
    Lacking in moral restraint:
abandoned, dissipated, dissolute, fast, gay, incontinent, profligate, rakish, unbridled, unconstrained, uncontrolled, ungoverned, uninhibited, unrestrained, wanton, wild.

That’s a hard argument to make nowadays, methinks, since it’s the Q in LGBTQ

there are queer people that aren't gay and gay people that aren't queer. I know its tough to keep up. I support everything in that acronym except T because I have a scientific grasp on what gender is.

    It definitely is.

If a person is "queer", but not gay, what makes them queer?

Take your average joe.. You know him. He's fundamentally a very masculine man, but he's gay. I know two. One I've mentioned bfore was my dad's best friend and the other was a guy that saved my ass over in Africa. Dude was tough as nails, but he was gay.

A guy I work with right now... he sews, cooks, has a very effeminate mannerism, he's also gay, but he's a queer. There are men that are queer that aren't gay. It's weird, but it's true. I always thought my dad's best friend was a queer until I was in Africa with Mike who saved my ass.. If it wasn't for that gay dude who was tough as SHIT I would be dead right now.

    EDIt --

Here's a female example. The word lipstick lesbian and bull dyke (sic) a lipstick lesbian is gay but not queer. a bull dyke (sic) is queer and lesbian.

It's having the traits of the other gender without being trans. this is why the trans movement bothers me. I think a lto of those people are queer and were bullied into being transgendered.

I've met women that were way more masculine than I am, weren't homosexual, and weren't transgender, they were just masculine people. Same with men.

Statistically the most likely person to have just gotten AIDS is still an under age non-white girl living somewhere other than in a western country. It was initially 'spread' by a hetrosexual sailor having sex with female prostitutes in africa then in europe.

    Did that answer my question?
If it did, I missed it.

    ETA: After your edit.
Are you saying one must be effeminate to be queer?
