Here is an ideal. Secure the F'ing border so its not so easy to transport guns across it illegally.

You know what's equally retarded? Mexico has strict gun control and they're the one having all the shootouts, not us!

It's not our job to keep guns from moving into Mexico. That's Mexico's job. It's our job to keep their BS from coming over here.

Maybe if the regular Mexican folks had them they wouldn't be sitting ducks. They need more guns, not less.

The poor Mexican folks who are just trying to live life are sitting ducks. Their own country will not allow them to own a firearm that is capable of any real defense.

Also I haven't a whole lot of real good data on those figures the BATFE just spewed out. It's almost like they are trying to conceal data of the true number of guns that have "walked" across the boarder.

They say that 70% of the firearms they just traced have originated in the US. They don't say how many of those firearms were LEGALLY exported to Mexico for LEGAL purposes and then stolen or used for criminal activity. We have a lot of firearms manufacturers in this country and not every single gun was specifically manufactured for the US market. Mexican citizens can buy US made firearms in Mexico, so if you are part of a criminal organization and want to arm yourself, there is a source for firearms. Mexican law enforcement both local and federal arm themselves with US made firearms provided through legal channels. It's not uncommon at all for cartels to raid police armories or bribe officials for firearms. You also have entire military or para-military units go rouge and join the cartels for the proper amount of cash.

So not every US made gun in Mexico came from a gunshop in El Paso or Phoenix, but that's the spin that you hear.

Mexico's economic policies and shitty governance got them where they are. They need to fix their political and economic systems or fixing the "drug" and "gun" problems will never happen.

BATF does the crime, as Obama and Holder ordered. Do you think this operation would have happened without them approving it? Come on we all know it goes all the way to the top that's why they are dragging their feet on it. This administration violates law after law.

Obama says we have to work on the 2A "under the radar"

Hillary signed a deal last year with the UN and if it is approved it will endup registering all firearms and taking away ones they construe as evil, which is anytihng more then 10 rounds and pumps only.

Watch the other hand because this administration is working to take away our rights.

Look up in Missoula Mt. They are after this supposed "milita" man who "supposedly" fired on officers after a slow speed chase. Years earlier this man had run ins with the law trying to expose the corruption going on and had a list of people. Well the ATF and Local police end up saying it's to kill all these people when what I read on it that the list was expose those that are corrupt.

Anyway the police say "in the past he said he will not be taken alive" FOLKS THAT CODE FOR WE WILL KILL HIM ON SIGHT SO HE CAN'T TALK.

If you speak out against the goverment, and if you have an arsenal ie(average Texans gun collection and stash of ammo) then you are a "home grown terrorist" and must be taken out. I believe even the charge of a "machine gun" was trumpted..

Remember Waco, Ruby Ridge, the case in Tuscon where swat shot a guy 60 times when in fact he had done nothing but work up from just going to sleep from his job and wife saying there are people outside with guns. He never fired but again, he's the bad guy... only now he can't talk, he's dead.

First, they did this to draw attention away from the Gunwalker hearings that started on the same day.

Second, their numbers show a decline in the amount of American guns in Cartel hands. Could it be that the BATFE saw this coming and that's why they did Gunwalker? I'm 100% certain that Gunwalker was about putting more guns that came out of US stores into criminal hands in Mexico.

Third, let's get some real numbers. Forget what percentage submitted for trace were traced to the US. That number lacks scale. I've only got raw numbers for 2008 right now, but in 2008, Mexico seized approximately 30,000 firearms (holy crap!). Of these, only 7200 were submitted to BATFE for tracing. That's only 24% of the total seizures that they even tried to trace. Of those, 70% came back of US origin. That doesn't mean that they were bought in gun stores. The Mexican Federales use Bushmaster carbines (poor bastards), for example. Yes, I'm saying that some of these came from the Mexican government - the Mexican military and police are a significant source of cartel weaponry.

Finally, I'm calling BS on their numbers. The Mexican government submits less than 10K for tracing in 08, but over the next two years submits over 30,000? Bull.

This creates the only sympathy I have with illegals. Then again, they're the ones who didn't revolt when they should have. Then again, neither have we...

Just think it through, it is dual purpose for your BOB, you can shoot dinner and SIGNAL that rescue aircraft all with one piece of equipment. It eliminates the need for a signal mirror!!
