My brother is contemplating a purchase of an inexpensive hunting rifle. I've looked at a few, but I have heard mixed things about most of them. I was reading reviews of some bargain hunting rifles in Guns and Ammo, and the 100 ATR came up. The reviewer said he was able to get some 3/4" groups out of the rifle with ammunition it liked, which I think is pretty good for a $350 rifle/scope combo. My real question is, does anyone have any input on this rifle? I've shot one in 30-06 and I thought it was a decent rifle, but at the time the rifle only had 10 rounds max through it. If anyone has one or can comment on their long-term experience I would greatly appreciate it.
