Yeah that grip looks awkward, but without trying it, who knows. It's hard to imagine screwing up an AR trigger. Either it's standard "mil spec" or it's better, neither of which is that bad. Seems hard to screw up. Either issue is a quick and painless fix though.

The reviewer mentions it's mil spec, "which means the trigger is absolutely miserable." So I guess he just hates the mil spec trigger.
I went ahead and bought one. This isn't a buyer's remorse thread. I read up on it, and to me, seems like a pretty good budget carbine. Not many reviews on it though.
Just looking to others with more experience as to how to make it better.

Rail covers were the first thing I bought. Those rails felt like holding a cheese grater with someone applying weight.

The trigger is likely to smooth out considerably after a couple hundred rounds, if you want to wait before spending money on a new trigger. Just depends on how "good" of a trigger you're going to want.

Any tips for breaking in the barrel? I've read "clean, 5 shots, clean", "clean, 100 shots, clean", and "clean, 1 shot, clean".
I'll probably do the 5 shot clean method to 100 rounds.
I'll ask the gun shop tomorrow if they have any more guidance when I pick it up.

It's not chrome lined though, so I'm pretty sure there's a break in period.
Chrome lined barrels don't need a break in.

And there it is. One thing that really disappointed me is when the butt stock is all the way forward, it stops the charging handle.

Edit: doesn't necessarily stop it, but it catches it some of the time.

I think it's just the charging handle is shaped weird.

It's those two things coming out at the bottom that are hitting the butt stock

That's is a neat lower. I wouldn't mind one because it says mossberg. Not a fan of that grip but I'd just slap aMOE or some other cheap grip on it.

I agree that its just the charging handle. I've never seen one like it.

Let us know how it shoots. Looks like a decent plinker on the cheap.
