No doubt he had experience and a lot of other tangible qualifications...he couldn't have gotten where he has by being a dummy. No doubt he is/has or will read this thread.

Saltyag2010 mentions the word humble....spot on...

Challenging a know-it-all / blowhard can be effective in shutting them down.

If you have a different, bullet proof method please share with us.

Go ahead look, I had a run in with him from the very get go, and didn't need a run with the herd mentality to figure his tactics out. Might want to turn on threads ... what you quoted of mine was in response to an unnecessary and vile characterization, in a cutesy music format, that is arguably much worse than anything the subject did/said

If you have some bullet proof method to make that acceptable behavior, you might want to "share it with "us"" yourself.

If you quoted the music thing, it's not showing here and I'm viewing in standard format.

I didn't care for that either.

Not sure what turn on threads means.

Yep, exactly what I was talking about. I purposely didn't quote it, because reposting something like that is indeed something a troll would do. ;)

In my browser I can see all messages in a "Threaded" view that clearly indicates the message someone is replying to. That fact is not apparent in "Linear" view, which makes it look like you replied to the post above yours.

I apologize for the confusion ... My fault entirely, but on purpose. I was indeed afraid that matefrio would think I was replying to his post, but decided not to quote what I was replying because of the reasons above.

There was a brief moment of confusion what you intended but no problem. If anything I'm thick skinned.

I do apologize, and thanks ... learned a valuable lesson (once again) with web based forums: don't assume that a threaded message hierarchy is a given. Sometimes you're just damned if you do, and damned if you don't. :)

I rolled out the welcome mat and invited him to come to lunch with us. There's no way someone can be as big of an ass in person as they are online. Even if they are, it's more effective to tell them their attitude is ridiculous to their face than it is online.

All these words on the internet are entertaining, but actually meeting some like minded folks is the real value of sites like this to me.

The one guy that got banned a long time ago MR Redneck (Not to be confused with Texas Redneck) back in Mar 2011. I actually liked him.
Yeah, I liked MR Redneck too. Also kinda liked west texas, but that guy went waaaaaay off the rails.
