Apa brakes are tough to beat. The new area 419 are nice too.

Interesting article. I wish they included the PWS brake.
I put PWS brakes on almost everything I own. The first time I shot a SCAR 17 which comes from factory with them, was impressive.
It does set off every car alarm at the range with every shot. That is the compromise, awesome controllability and recoil reduction, or less obnoxious noise.

I run a Witt Machine muzzle brake on my 24'' TC 300 WinMag. I was referred to them by a member here when I first bought my rifle. It performs wonderfully, greatly reducing recoil and lift. I generally shoot 20 round sessions when I bring it out to the range and it is more comfortable to shoot than I ever thought it could be. I can highly recommend them if you are in the market for a brake for your rifle.

The VG6 was tested in the Truth About Guns test. It tested in the upper third. Good enough for my 6.5 CM gasser. About half the price of the best brakes.

I've got one on a 5.56 and it's awesome.

PWS does make excellent brakes. Videoed the first one I put on a .308. Virtually eliminated muzzle rise.
