I don't load the .308 anymore, as I got rid of the rifles that used that caliber, but when I did I had my best success with IMR 4064.

I've heard that Varget and CFE 223 both work well in .308.

I have had the best luck with 4064 also. I use a mid-range load and Hornady 165 gr SSTs. Amaxes work very well also but built my new load around a hunting bullet.

Ditto on the 4064. That stuff works great in a variety of loads, but especially the Hornady 165 SST round.

I use W768 for lighter bullets. The Nosler 125g ballistic tips take about g of powder, on my antelope load.

I use a 168 gr. Sierra BTHP (MK) with 42 grains of Reloader-15, lit off by a CCI BR-2 primer. Using a DPMS LR-308 with a 24" Bull barrel it consistently shoots 5-shot groups under .30 inchs @ 100 yds.
