.40 S&W. Getting ready to send it to sig for the 9mm conversion(they won't just sell it and ship you the pieces any more)...then I'll have that slide cerakoted as well...
Understandable. I am thinking of picking one up in .40 and a .357 barrel. I did have a p226 with both barrels and liked how the 357 as well as jello tests.
I gave my daughter my P229 9mm for her "home protection" and my P239 .40 for carry. Both are "tack drivers" and will do it all day long. Good choice and good looking job on the cherakote.
Got a black nitron 229 in 9mm and 22lr...my favorite gun. Plastic/nylon slide guide rod self-destructed the first time I let someone else shoot it. Replaced with stainless rod...all is good.
I've seen some of the conversion kits at retail locally...Red's North carries a few...their price was actually lower than SIG's price WITH a coupon! This is factory SIG, not aftermarket, if you're interested.
Send the whole pistol to Sig and add the "Action Enhancement" package. It made my P229 into a very accurate, easy to shoot pistol. I have a .40 with the .357 sig barrel, and the .22 slide. I don't shoot the .357 sig very much anymore, but it is a nice option to have. I bought the barrel used for less than a $100.00 I like that the point of aim is the same for both calibers. The barrel is the only change necessary between .40 and .357 sig.
Awesome looking gun. Really like the cerakote color job. Would like to add one in 9mm to my stable. What is the cost of a cerakote job like this run? if you don't mind me asking.
