Just bought two one month supplies of freeze dried 2,000 cal per day buckets of “food”. With the vet discount, tax and free shipping just at $535.00. We have all the clean water we need without relying on running water to the house. The calories/$ looks to be the best deal out there in the freeze dried food bucket category. Hate to do it, but I’m going to have to find room in the monthly budget for additional few months supply.

The product taste is actually pretty good, I've tried the potato, rice w/ broccoli soup (add some extra water and rice to stretch this one out), and some others. IMO, the calorie count is low, but as a supplement to existing stores, and to add variety, it is a good product. I keep 4 totes on hand, plus, if they have a sampler sale or 72-hour deal, I will occasionally buy that as a cheap way to add something different to my stores.

Age and overall health play into how much food you should eat. Especially if you’re bunkered, not active, and older. You don’t need 2000 calories a day sitting. Especially when a lot of these foods are loaded with ingredients that is made for an active fellow in his 20’s and early 30’s.

The older we get we start to run like a Diesel engine; slow down but make better use of what fuels us.

Mre’s and freeze dried meals are good for hikes/patrols. To be used at home they are a band aid. Consider adding rabbits. My mind has gone from chickens to including rabbits. They reproduce well and mature fast. Good meat source.

I just need enough food to get my family by for a few months. I plan on supplementing my stash with wildlife and home grown foods. After that, I will just scavenge the neighbors houses that didn't prepare and died off. If that doesn't work, I have a mental list of libtard neighbors who hate guns.
