Probably won't hear about it on the news, but our local high school (Grand Oaks) had a kid bring a Ruger .380 to school today. Allegedly had a hit list, and someone phoned in an anonymous tip. Conroe ISD brought in K9, found the kid, took him into custody without incident.

The other kind of happy ending for this sort of thing - headed off, prevented, and taken care of. That's where Nashville failed - the best friend of the creature who killed those kids called 911 because it had told her what it was going to do. She got shunted to the non-emergency line, and then was promised an officer would come interview her at 3pm...hours after the shootings.

And in the years since, how often has it been followed?

I think this depends on the mettle of the officers involved as well as the quality of their training. Some officers since Columbine have been outstanding. Others like at King Souper, Parkland, or Uvalde are just pretty worthless. At King Soupers and Uvalde, they got their noses bloodied (actually one officer was killed at Kind Soupers) and no longer is going inside to save the people very important.

There will always be officers that will give their lives trying to save the lives of others, be it in a shooting, house or car fire, flood, etc. Then there are the 2 percenters who wear the badge and enjoy the power trip, but are pathetic losers. The problem is that when it comes to YOUR crisis, you don't know if you are getting the good cops or the pathetic cops.

A lot of noise was made in the aftermath of Columbine about "no more waiting for backup or a tactical team when there's an 'active shooter' at a school". Departments from all over the country announced it as their policy, and the DOJ made a lot of noise about it.

And in the years since, how often has it been followed?
One of the problems, and I'm not covering for their actions, they should go in as quickly as possible, degradation of the departments has depleted their mindset. The norm is to question your actions, since everyone has a camera and every little thing is scrutinized.

A valid point. Especially in the current climate where if your skin isn't light-colored, then you can only be a victim and never a perpetrator in the eyes of some.

    Unf’ing believable.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said Thursday that the "trans community" in America is "under attack," just days after a transgender former student opened fire in a Nashville, Tennessee, school and killed six people.

"One of the things that we saw during the midterm elections is that people don't want their freedoms to be taken. They want us to fight for their freedoms," Jean-Pierre said to reporters as she answered questions from the briefing room. "It is shameful, it is disturbing, and our hearts go out to the trans community as they are under attack right now."

This is the official US government stance on the murderer. As long as .gov is picking sides, there’s no conversation to be had.

...as the administration and political party she represents loudly demand that our freedoms be taken away. And I'm willing to bet money she's completely unaware of the hypocrisy and irony of her words. She is the human embodiment of a deer in the headlights.

Nothing like adding fuel to the fire after the media has basically been condoning this:

I predict this will get ugly fast. The "activists" will be spoiling for a riot, and when it's put down the cops will be accused of brutality and prejudice against thos poor trans people who just want their voices heard.

Let's play a drinking game. Everyone take a drink for every Antifa flag, black hooded sweatshirt with black bandanna face covering, Soviet flag, picture of Stalin, Lenin, or Guevara, or improvised weapon you see in that crowd.

Even when it was 5 black police officers beating a man who died later, some still tried to tie it to racism. Tennessee is becoming a hotbed of racism it seems.

I don't drink, well booze anyway. But, if I took a drink of water as you suggested,
I would be up most of the night pissing.

The main cities of the state have been headed this direction for several decades. Nashville and Austin are similar in their decline.

Actually the prevalence of school shootings coincides with the rise of the use of SSRIs by the psychopharmacology industry. Almost every shooter was on SSRIs at one time or another.

Messing with a person's brain chemistry, especially before they are 25 years old is a really bad idea.
THIS ^^^^ Exactly, spot on, ..... and the media refuses to even think about it, much less mention it.
    Follow the money.
