    The US congress passed the Credit Card Bill of Rights Act yesterday and President Obama is expected to sign the bill into law on Memorial Day. Why is this news to you, Sendator Tom Coburn added a rider to the bill reinstating the ruling allow lawful possession of loaded firearms in national parks in accordance with state laws -- reinstating the ruling that went into effect on January 9, 2009.

    Senator Tom Coburn, an Oklahoma Republican who offered the gun amendment, said it was necessary to reduce crime in the parks. The amendment, approved in the Senate on a 67-29 vote on May 12, would prohibit the federal government from barring weapons in national parks where they are allowed by state law

    if your state requires a CHL to carry anywhere else...then you still need one.

    OK, so reciprocity agreements are still of paramount importance in this particular issue. Thanks for the info.

    Obama signs law curbing surprise credit card fees - Yahoo! News

    President Barack Obama warned overeager shoppers and greedy credit card companies alike on Friday to act responsibly as he signed into law a bill designed to protect debt-ridden consumers from surprise charges.

    <snip>

    One part of the bill Obama did not publicly celebrate at the signing, a gun amendment. The measure by Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla., allows people to bring loaded guns into national parks and wildlife refuges.
    The addition of the amendment to the bill — and Obama's acceptance of it — was viewed as a bitter disappointment for gun-control advocates.

    C'mon PrezBO, celebrate!
