Go with the RI, the CD is a good gun but uses different pin sizes than standard 1911's which makes the sear geometry different enough that swapping hammers/sears and disconnects are all difficult.Charles Daly & Rock Island seem to have the best reviews for least expensive 1911's
Between these two which would be the better one
Please do!Don't make me start posting pics...lol
Hey heyyyyyyyy I luvsz.my rocksRIA.
Be aware that when you buy a low-end 1911, you will probably end up with what I call a kit-gun. You wind up spending all sorts of money adding the stuff that slightly higher priced 1911s already have and yet the value of your gun doesn't go up. Biggest thing is the beavertail grip safety. That 1911 "bite" in the web of your hand will soon convince you of why the beavertail is standard on better guns.

Need 1911 opinion
What do you consider mid-range?
What do you consider mid-range?
This is how I look at them
Entry level $300 - $550
Mid $600 - $850/900
High $1000 - $2000
Won the lottery $3000 on up
Entry 500-800
Mid 800-1500
High 1500-2500
Expensive 2500-3500
Hide the receipt 3500+
Most of mine fall into the "Mid" range, although I have a number in the high, and a couple in the expensive. I'm seriously considering one or two in the "hide" range at present...unless the better half finds my mad money stash.
