Well my Remington 870 took a crap a few days ago at the range. I fired a shell and the action locked up and would NOT open. I had to disassemble the gun to remove the spent shell and now the action bar lock is completely immobile. It won't move an inch. And the hammer is just kind of flopping around in there.

Can you guys recommend a good smith in the Austin area?

I have used Hank Fleming a few times and he has always come through for me. He is also our department "armorer" and he does all the work to our patrol 870's so I am positive he knows his shotguns.

    +1 on Hank Fleming.

I had been going to Alan Tillman (Art Enterprises) for a few years and now he works with Hank. These are the two best gunsmiths around and they are in one shop.
