Need an optics recommendation for a Ruger10/22

Thanks all. I plan of doing some plinking out to about 75 yard, and also would like to teach my 8 year old to shoot. Your scope ideas all seem within reason and doable.

Tex, Check out the Nikon PROSTAFF 3-9 Rimfire BDC 150. I have had over 100 kids behind my 10/22 plinking targets at different shooting events. Easy to use,clear and makes accurate shots the norm.

I am thinking of maybe a 1-4 scope for an ar15 for mine. I have a folding stock and used an eotech til I recently sold it. I'd prefer some more magnification but I don't want a big ole 40mm scope on it. Any suggestions?

Everyone should own a .22 with a red dot sight. I have a stainless 10/22 with a Burris red dot and it is a blast to shoot.
