Any pictures of it? I had one from that era and I remember it being similar to the newer batter compartments with the exception of a lip at the front. Never seen a two piece one.

Sorry phone butchered that. I don’t think there’s much needed or hoops to jump through in order to pm someone if you’re new. You just can’t sell anything until you’re established.

This is what I took out of the left side of Compartment.
It doesn't look anything like the "dogbone" part in the advertisements.

If I'm understanding everything correctly, there was a problem with the original design (what you have and are seeing) and they came out with a repair kit to replace original parts (dogbone piece and springs). Post a picture of he battery box as well as slot batteries go in. Without seeing the actual piece, it's hard to help further aside from just throwing out random ideas/thoughts/parts.

It doesn't look like the "dog bone" piece will fit, but I don't know.

ballpoint pen spring and a rubber grommet from the hardware aisle at Lowes or Home Depot might be your only fix if you dont want to try the dogbone replacement and make that fit.

I think the replacement contact kit never came as 2 separate grommets that came in the sight, but rather this version

I ordered the part in this link a while back.
It doesn't go "inside" the compartment, it replaces the contacts on where the compartment attaches to the sight itself.

The instructions, however, pertain to the replacement of the actual dog bone part inside the compartment.

Try it in the door side following the instructions I'm pretty sure ive used that part to replace the door side contacts before.

I used to only buy eotech but they phucked me on their buy back cause the stupid stickers they use come off if you get oil or solvent on them. So I go different directions now. Much cheaper, same results in dependability.

You can also search for an old bushnell holoscope or holosight as it is the same sight just a different brand name on it. You might find it cheap.
