I'm going a little crazy here. I've searched all the local hardware stores and the internet trying to find a simple, no-nonsense stool for my garage workbench that doesn't cost $120. I need something around 26" to 29" high. I don't care if it's adjustable. I don't care if it has padding. I don't care if it has a dang tractor seat. I just want a stool.

Remember those stools from high school chemistry lab? The ones that were just round, gray, steel-framed with a cork insert in the seat? That would be perfect. I cannot find anything like that. It's driving me nuts.

Thanks for any help you can provide!

Look for a used office furniture place. I got an old metal draftsman's chair for cheap a few years ago - It ain't pretty but it works out great at the reloading bench.
