A strange variant, last year of German luger offical production and very few commercial units sold. The usual commercial luger made during wartime did not have a chamber date There is a strong rumor that a small quantity of 1942 production units were sold to Iran bearing the Mauser Banner. Again , quoting Datig. Beautiful lady and deadly despite lack of red hourglass ! Thanks for sharing.

Nice someone with a brain, thanks appreciate it.
That's understandable, but it's also the reason for the replies you received.

Dust, please try not to let all our totally unrelated / silly replies get to you and give this forum a chance. There's really great bunch of folks here that really do love to be helpful.

Adding to what ZX9CAM said - Look at it from our point of view. Your post was a single sentance question without enough information for most folks to understand what you were asking, and definitely not enough information for anyone to actually give you a complete answer. A picture is worth a thousand words. It was aggravation that led to the silly responses and turned into a "feeding frenzy."

Some of the most knowledgeable gun enthusiasts in the U.S. reside on this forum. If we can't identify it we know someone who can. Post your pictures, we love pictures.

Sure always a pleasure to view and exchange thoughts on rare firearms, I collected prewar match .22 and 4mm and guild built weapons and conversions so I might have run across something similar

After blowing up pics of the widow, it appears to have the military waffenamps on the right side- so you have one of the last lugers assembled for the German army (the last 4000 went to Portugal) another good indicator would be a script 4digit serial number. I can't find the pic again of the post war 22 luger and it is out of my limited scope of knowledge being from the 50's or 60's

Great, thank you again. I do appreciate the help. I am just trying to get everything identified and values so I can get it all insured. What do you think a value on 9 may be, i assume they will ask for a value of each gun when i go to insure this collection.

Thank you so much. I appreciate all your help. Do you have any recommendations on insuring a collection, who to use, who not to use? Thanks again.

Not really, I use the same agency Ive been with for 50 years. If you have other exotic or high end weapons, contact Collectors Firearms in Houston for appraisals etc.
