It is a No 4 MkI* . All of the parts have a 5 stamped on them. You have to unlock the bolt in a forward position and the front sight is very different. On the band above the trigger is: 76C5700. (and I love my Wing)

I believe this is a sporterized version of this:

US Ordnance stamp, large “S” for Savage, and model designation.
So it was that Savage Arms Corporation in Massachusetts got a contract to produce Lee-Enfield No. 4 Mk I* rifles. Savage produced over 1 million No 4 Mk I* rifles between 07/22/41 and 06/22/44. The exact number is in dispute, however, all sources do agree the total was far in excess of 1 million.

This is definitely an Enfield .303 action. The bolt, safety, and mag release all point to that. The rear sight is a bit different than mine so I'm not sure if it has also been sporterized. The Savage production of Enfields is a new one on me. Looks like I learned something today!

I thought that all of the parts had a "5" but I think they are an "S" for the Savage made model. I have learned quite a bit about the Enfield doing this research. Thanks to all for your help.

It should have "US Property" stamped on the receiver near where your thumb is in your last photo. Definately a sporterized #4 MKI. Have the headpace checked as these had a tendancy to stretch and develop excessive headspace. They made replacement bolt heads to correct this condition but they have all but dried up.
