So I found a deal on some 9mm (115gr) Israel Military Industries ammo (brass cased 90s production). I've read some sites that say this is corrosive. Anyone here use it before?

Also thinking of picking up some 5.56 (55gr) 90s production too. Opinions on this is also wanted.

Don't buy loose/bulk surplus, it's oftentimes very bad.
Corrosive is OK if you clean your guns.
    Don't shoot IMI black-tip 9MM in handguns!

I had some of the same questions. The ammo that I'm looking at was in 9MM and was FMJ.

Eli-can you clarify what you mean about IMI Black-Tip? Would the round actually be black? sorry for such a Noob question....

    Out here by the lake!
I always found IMI to be great ammo. Back before Clinton got in I bought a bunch of IMI in various caliber .45, .40, 9mm, .357 & .223. still have a little of each. Their .308 match ammo shot better the Federal match in my gun.

I saw some IMI 9mm going for next to nothing a few weeks ago and wish I'd jumped on it for the G17, which eats everything it's fed without complaint. $150/k or something amazing like that...

Thanks Eli- what I found appears from the picture to be just FMJ without the tip being painted. They didn't have it in stock, but it was at the warehouse and should be in Friday.

I originally ordered a bunch of ammo from RGuns (9mm, .45, and .223) but after seeing the post from guys who received their ammo I canceled my order

Some of their 9 mm ammo is loaded too hot for a standard 9 mm pistol or carbine.

I personally would not buy surplus ammo from a desert environment. If it was ever exposed to extreme desert temperatures, and some of the Nitro cooked out of the smokeless powder, then that could be bad for anyone around that firearm when the hammer falls!

I just made some real accurate .223 loads with some IMI brass. Very good brass.

I had to throw a batch of IMI brass away because, for whatever reason, it was so hard that it was not possible to resize it in a Lee Full Length Resizing .223 die (that was a standard sized die, not one of those undersized dies) on a Hornady press.

That is the only brass I have tried that would not resize, it was a total waste of money for me.

As always, your results may vary.
