Better include some different springs with that barrel. 380 to 9MM will eat up springs noticeably faster. May batter the frame, too. Also, isn't the 42 a single-pin design?

yes, it is a single pin. Excuse my ignorance and learn me somthing......how does that single pin design make a difference in doing a conversion? Sorry, I am not a Glock guru, but I play one on some forums.

It doesn't really affect a conversion, but in a gun that small you might want an extra pin due to the added recoil of 9MM beating up the frame. Glock added an extra pin when they decided to chamber their 9MM models in .40SW for the same reason.

Damnit. Just as I'm ready to get the R51 when it comes out next month, my wife picks up a Glock 42 and falls in love. Looks like I'll be picking one up!

So I saw the write-up on the G42 in the newest issue of Guns & Ammo. Now I'm even more confused how they failed to get more rounds in there as the 42 uses a "1.5" stack magazine. It has a noticeably large gap between the bottom round indicator and the bottom of the mag.

Surely there must be some good explanation for this...

Just a guess, it might require a REALLY strong spring to ensure the round pops up fast enough to cycle, as I imagine given the size it's got a much shorter window once the previous round is extracted.

    Again, just a guess.
