    Gunz are icky.
Thought it might be fun to do an unboxing and initial range report on a new revolver the Moonpie recently acquired.
Spotted this one in the case at a LGS.
It is a Cimarron “Pistolero” .22LR 10-shot Single Action. Made by Pietta.
Loves me some revolvers. Loves me some .22LR pistols even more. Gun counter commando did not appreciate my slobbers on everything.
After debating with myself about the need vs. want thing and the practicality of using all manner of rimfire ammo in these lean times(which took exactly 13 seconds) the stupid thing followed me home.
    So off we go .............

    Thing has a brass frame

Comparing it with a Colt SAA.
Dimensions very close. This is handy for using the same leather for both.

    Gunz are icky.
After a bit of cleaning and perfunctory check off to the range.

Observations: Gun is same size as a SAA.
It’s heavy. Entire gun is steel and brass.
    Loading and unloading is simple.
Firing was uneventful. Shot about 100rds.
POI is a bit low and right for me. A little careful filing on the front sight should bring the elevation up.
Trigger and action gritty but will smooth up with use.
Couple of negatives: It’s heavy. The trigger sits farther forward than a SAA. The space is kinda tight for the trigger finger. Some of the guns edges are sharp. They’ll wear down with some use. The ratchet gear on the back of the cylinder has more needles than a prickly pear cactus. Be careful with it. Please don’t ask me how I know this.
Overall it seems a nice piece.

I did the same thing earlier. One Ruger Vaquero in .45 Colt Stainless Steel 4 5/8" barrel and an Uberti 1873 Cattleman .22 Revolver 6 shot 4.75" barrel. 2017/18.

Both are nearly the same size and weight and both hold 6 rounds. Share the same holster too! I practice a lot with the .22 and then a few rounds (box) through the .45 Colt. Got the knife off Ebay for $40. Threw it in for free!

    That place east of Waco....
Nice addition to the collection, Moonpie. What is the ballpark cost for one?

I'd really like to see Uberti or ASM make a competitor to the Bearcat revolvers.....something small, yet strong enough to handle .22 Magnum.

Nice purchase, congrats. I would assume that the Pietta/Cimarron has the 4 click action.

I have a Cimarron Frontier .357Mag, great gun, kind of my "beater" SAA. Cheaper to shoot than my Colt SAA in .45LC.

    ~ $400.00
They're pretty hard to get right now due to the rice rabies thing.

Yes, it has the four click action but its different than a traditional SAA. There is no safety notch(1st click).
Half cock(for loading/unloading) is about 3/4 of the way back.
