Guys, read the rules before posting again. Conducting business outside the classifieds can cause all kinds of problems that we don't need.
I appreciate your offer, pardner. I understand and support the admin's decision.Sorry I caused a problem, just trying to help out a new guy from my area. The price was less than I have in them, I will be more informed in the future
You didn't.Sorry I caused a problem
Yes we do just a brain fart on my part I really knew betterYou didn't.
Most people don't get around to reading the rules until someone points them out. There was obviously no ill intent here since an in-person meet was proposed.
We have the rule for a number of reasons but the main one is that business outside the classifieds is often done by dodgy accounts that sign up, post a quick 25 posts in order to get Conversation (aka Private Messaging, or PM) privileges, and then start trying engage with people about some item. They typically insist on taking the conversation private where they can suggest the easiest way to conduct business is through a payment application. Money gets paid and the seller immediately disappears.
Usually we catch it in time and there's not a big problem but we did have one member lose $400 not long after a scammer got booted and I thought everyone had sales security at the front of their mind. Apparently not.
I have no doubt there was no ill intent here and if you two guys decide to get together in person to have coffee or a range day and if one of you offers to take some item off the hands of another in exchange for a few bucks...well...that sort of thing happens all the time. No one here cares.
Just don't discuss it here on TGT, unless it's after the fact just to acknowledge what a good guy another member is.
Do we have an understanding?
