Hi all,
I moved to Houston a couple months ago from Arizona where I had lived the last 10 or so years. In Phoenix I helped coordinate the Valley of the Sun Pink Pistols and hope to find a similar group locally.
A bit of my bio/background:
Most of my shooting is USPSA pistol matches (#A65453) though I've also done a little bit of NRA High Power. If you shoot the Thursday Night matches at D Gun Range on Hooper and 59 you've met me. There I'm known as Dancing Bob so as not to be confused with Speedy Bob or Handsome Bob.
I reload pistol rounds on a Dillon 650 but do my rifle rounds on a single stage press. I've never cast my own bullets but have put together a 358 Winchester and picked up a couple molds in anticipation of finding time for that hobby at some point.
Professionally I'm a metallurgist turned electrochemist. I moved here to work on corrosion problems in O&G.
Beyond shooting my hobbies are Argentine Tango (teach in Montrose), adventure motorcycling (ridden to Ushuaia), and recently rock climbing.
I joined this forum mostly to learn about local shooting resources, such as where to buy Haz-Mat reloading components, and to eventually gain access to the marketplace.
Two guns I'm hoping to add to my collection in the near future are a stainless framed Sig P226 from before they added that silly beavertail, and a S&W PC 5906.
Looking forward to shooting with some of you.
