Well the new stock arrived. This is a blem/ second and the only thing wrong is two very small chips on the barrel channel not noticeable once assembled.
Stock liner set screw holes are less then 1/8" off inline. Easily fixable and for $40
It's a darn nice piece of wood with both straight grain and swirl grain on both sides.

I've had good luck using Devcon to bed in the rifle to a stock. My last boyds stock got so tight, it makes a suction noise when you seperate the rifle from the stock. It's good stuff. Nice project you got there

I'm gonna do a True oil on this one I haven't used that stuff in ages but I really liked it.
I'll do two 50/50 coats, one 60/40 and two full strength with just a light buff to smooth it out.

Your shop area is way too clean/organized though.............
That's my 3rd car part of my garage. Much goes on in there.

My first M1A had an O.D. synthetic stock when I purchased it, I tried to like it but had to replace it with a walnut stock.

This is how I bought mine then I painted the stock black untill I could find a walbut stock. It was cool for the type but I just wanted an official appearance.
