Hey everyone, I've been reading these forums for a few days now and decided to register and post. I did not grow up around guns, but I am interested in learning to target shoot with a .22 pistol. Can anyone tell me the minimum age for someone to rent a pistol at a range? I called Target Masters in Garland and they said 18, but The Shooters Club said the minimum age to rent a pistol is 21 by federal law. I'm 25, but my brother is 20 and we're wanting to go rent .22 pistols tomorrow to get a feel for what it's like to shoot. Would I be able to rent two pistols under my name so he can use one? Any answers you guys can give me would be much appreciated.

Welcome aboard! Renting guns is going to be up to the establishment entirely. 21 is the age to buy and generally the guideline used for ranges when setting their policies. Sorry I can't offer a more definitive answer.
