When is it and where in Dallas?
From the link I posted
« We normally hold monthly meetings at 1200 noon of the first Thursday of each month at the TEXO Building (11101 N. Stemmons Freeway Dallas, Texas 75229). We serve a terrific luncheon ($10 donation) and learn about what events are going on in the DFW area that we as Marines need to know about. Please come and join us for a few war stories as well as finding opportunities for us to give back to our own. «

Thank you, but I’ve been there. It isn’t very clear that if I can complete the class now it will count in the future. Based on what I can see, I shouldn’t even start doing anything until I have lived here for 6 months and have a DL.
I moved to Texas in March. I went down to the DMV and just walked up to the door. The girl asked if I had an appointment which I told her no I didn’t, she gave me an appointment for three hours later that day. You might want to try and just go and get one that way.

Welcome! I moved here 5 years ago from Washington, DC, probably for a lot of the same reasons. Very thankful I got my driver's license back then, but I'm just starting the LTC process too. Lots of good info here. Thanks to all!

Hello all. Recently moved here from Oregon and am looking to start the process (if I can) of getting my LTC here in TX.

I can’t get a driver's license until September as it is backed up quite a bit. Looking at the process to get a LTC here in TX, it’s a bit more involved than what I had to do in OR so I’d like to start the process of classes, paperwork etc. now if I can.

Do I have to wait on my DL to start this? I emailed the Dept of Public Safety twice but never received an email back. Thank you in advance!

Welcome from another born-again Texan by way of Oregon. We left Hillsboro on July 31 of last year, won't be stepping foot in Oregon again unless the state does a 180 and they purge the commies from power there.

Thankfully DPS driver licensing has opened up to "normal" operations as of last April. You can probably get your license sooner, if you're willing to drive to a smaller town and stand in line when they open. We lost my birth certificate in our move, and I had to order a new one from Oregon.

Thankfully the DPS offices here move with greater efficiency than do the Oregon DMV's I was accustomed to. Was in and out in under 30 minutes.

What part of Oregon did you move from?
