    So i sent Ruger a note asking when they might build one in .40 cal. They were really nice but basically told me they could not tell me or they would have to shoot me.....

    I have not had my hands on one yes.

    Seems one review I read said the bolt face and bolt/weight/buffer are changeable as if it's pre-engeneered to make caliber conversion possible.

    I shall hope.

    BTW
    Colt was wise in it's making 9mm carbines with a 1/2x36 thread to keep a distracted shooter from screwing something on the muzzle with a 5.56 size hole. I'm more than happy to have designers protect me from myself.
    I just would bet one of you guys have made such an error but won't admit to it (I wouldn't).

    I would hope that most people that are using firearms,practice self control and don't rely on others to keep themselves safe.

    Yep accidents happen deal with it.
