Anybody have experience with the glock 30? How does the shield compare to the g30 in recoil? Bought one as soon as I turned 21 biggest mistake ever should of gone full-size. Thinking of picking one up since there's the rebate till the end of next month but if recoil is similar I rather not.

Haven't fired the Shield in 9mm or 45 but I own a M&P45C and I gotta say, the recoil is very manageable. Heck I think it is a soft shooter compared to a SA Compact Carry I owned. I pulled it from the box, loaded it up, and shot a qual. course with it and pulled one out which was my error and not the guns.

The Shield .45 is not unpleasant to shoot at all. Heck, I'm 68 years young. The first trip out with it, I put about 215 rounds through it in 90 minutes or so. Took it out today and put another 123 rounds through it. Then I shot 50 rounds with my 9mm Shield. Lol, there is a difference.

I've got over 1000 rounds in mine.
Not one failure of any kind. I've shot everything from Winchester white box to federal aluminum and others. It just doesn't matter what I feed it.
Did a little color fill on it today. Looks good IMO.

How did you do the color fill? It looks good and I wouldn't mind doing that to my m&p 40c

Testors enamel paint. Used NON Acetone nail polish remover on a patch to remove the excess once it was dry. (Just rub very lightly to remove it)
    Very easy.

    Did my 40 as well.

Next up is my wife's 9mm, but she wants it done with the blue from the Tiffany box.

Well, taking my Shield 45 to the range today for the first time. Loaded the mags and they have been sitting for a few days. GOOD GRIEF are they tough to load! I kept hearing it, but though how bad could they be.

I will report back on how it fires. Going to make it a 45 day and fire the FNX45 as well.

I put another 100 rounds through mine Wednesday. That's 439 rounds without a hiccup, not counting the RSA. That didn't happen at the range. :)

Range trip went perfect. Made it a 45 day and took the FNX45 (amazing weapon also!!!). Anyways, the Shield is outstanding! Not 1 issue with 100 rounds of WWB 230gr and about 25 rounds of Federal HSt 230gr. The recoil is VERY soft for the size it is and much more enjoyable to shoot than the Shield 40 I used to have. Trigger is excellent right out of the box and feels just as good as both of my M2.0s. Also love that M2.0 style grip texture. Will put about 400 more rounds through it and if all is good start carrying it.

Ran another 100 rounds through mine Tuesday. The more I shoot it, the more I like. Feels great with the new Talon grips. 539 rounds, and yet to have any type of glitch, not counting the RSA, which actually happened at home.
