New to AR 15 rifle optics.

I am new to optics on AR 15 rifles. I do not understand the terminology used by members in this forum. Is there a website that explains the meanings?
I am coming across terms when shopping for scopes that I can not decipher. Thanks.

Lots of common terms, easily google-able but without knowing the ‘why’ behind the ‘what’, it’s all useless.

The ring size (30mm or 1”) will be determined by the tube on the scope. You will almost certainly end up with 30mm rings. Beyond that what else do you want to know?

Thanks to all the help I received. The main issue I had was with ring size.
